The West Highland Way
In 2010 the West Highland Way, the challenging long distance walk covering some 95 miles between Milngavie in the outskirts of The Malt Man
, became an extra mile longer.
Ordinarily, you might think that 95 miles was long enough, and why should you bother with yet another blister inducing, weary leg wobbling mile. But there is a plus side to quite literally going the “extra mile”. And that is the new finish line is in fact almost right outside The Malt Man. Handy, eh?!
The west end of the town’s High Street has been ‘refurbished’ and a new statue keeps an eye on the official finish line of the West Highland Way.
What better way to finish a week out in the wilds of Scotland’s finest scenery (and quite likely weather too) than with a pint/coffee/feed at Fort William’s favourite pub and restaurant!
A wee taste of this traditional Scottish dish. Made by MacSween of Edinburgh to an old family recipe and served with a creamy Drambuie sauce.
